Harrison had the weekend off so he started working on the attic again.

Harrison: What to do with the attic Lara?

Lara: Why don't you make a fitnessroom

Harrison: That is a wonderfull idea.
But first I will finish the window in the roof.

Harrison: Look Lara...I have also made paneling along the wall.
How do you like it?

Lara: It's looking great Harrison. Oh....what a great man you are.

Harrison and Lara decided to make a sort of skylight into the roof.
The attic will be more spacious and there will be more light.

Wich one should they choose?

1. Two small windows

2. Two square windows or....

3. One square window.

Painted Lady

Meet Harrison and Lara. People who have been following this blog, know who they are and now their story continues.

Lara has inheritad the house of her great aunt Victoria. Who didn't have any childeren of her own and treated Lara as her own daughter. Aunt Victoria lived there until her dead. Age....a respectable 96 years.
The house is much older. It was build in 1896 and is one of the painted lady's of Smithfield Virginia.

It has a lot of overdue maintenance but Harrison is a handyman.
He already started to renovate the outside of the house.

Well....the frontdoor is fixed.
Let's find out what is in the attic.

Lara....come and see what's up here. I cut a piece out of the wall to find out what's behind it.

Lots of old furnishire.

Nice rockingchair Harrison

What shall we do with it Lara, keep it or sell it?
Hmm....it is not quit our style. Maybe we should sell it. We certainly could use the money for the renovation.

Yeah, you are right Lara. We should look for a buyer.

But first....coffee

Finally something done...

Hello guys and dolls

Another long time since you last heard from me. But I have been very busy. No...no miniatures but my own house needed some tlc. Bought new doors wich still need some paint. Cleaned up the addic and a bedroom. Place a new floor, wallpaper and painted a cabinet wich I had bought on the internet.

So you see....I had no desire to make miniatures. But I made some anyway. Meet Ms.Amalia Hornblower. She is Mr. Peter Pendleton's housekeeper. She's going to keep the house nice and tidy and prepares meals for Mr. Pendleton and his guests.

Further I made some friends for little Bear. His house is never crowded enough. (still need to finish the garden) It's a little shy ducky and a ladyrabbit.

Another little bear

This morning I went to Klara. We've been very busy with some little critters. Klara finished her rabbit and I finished my bear that I started to make a really long time a go but never was finished.
I don't like it that much but it is my first little bear so I will cherish it. :-)

Well....at least he is looking cute into the camera. lol

I also been to a fleamarket and bought these two. A lovely couple. She was wearing something awfull and I knew I had knitted a sweater a while a go.....it fits her like a glove.

Tulips from.....Amsterdam???

No....these tulips are from IJsselmuiden. And they are standing in Little Bear's garden.
The buddleja is also finished.

You see the lego....Klara told me to put a 1:1 item in the scene to compare scale
The green you see will be the lawn and the rest will be stones.
This is how I made the tulips. They are 1.8cm high.

The buddleja in progress.  This wasn't the most efficient way.
Next time I will first put the leaves on and then make a bunch of it. :-)

Lythrum salicaria and waterlilies

The water of the pond is nice and clear but had become quite collapsed so I have put a new layer of "water" on it to fill it some more. I also made waterlillies and a few Lythrum salicaria.
The pond is almost ready.

I also try to make a buddleja.
What do you think....is it going to look like one or should I give up.

Handbag

Last thursday I made a handbag but I wasn´t completely satisfied. It was a horrible bag and I thougth that there had to be another way to make it. (I also wanted it to open).

Isn´t it a horrorbag??

This is the new one. It´s the same leather but then the inside out.

Pictures don´t do justice this time.

Little Bear wanted to see the bag too.

"Look.....I fit right in!!"

Hello again

Hello again.

It´s been a long time since the last time I wrote but I couldn´t find the motivation to do something because of some disorder in my family.
But.....I have been busy with a house a cousin gave to me. It´s not the house that I would have so I will give it away to my neighbours daughters after I´ve restored it a little bit.
This was the house when I got it, it had no windows at that time.

With new paint on the outside it looks like this.

Added some wallpaper.
And this is the house now. You can click on the foto to enlarge.

Last saterday I have been to a craftfair with Klara. I bought quiltstuff.
Fabric, neeldes and paperhexacons. Now it must turn into a quilt. :-)
